A leading proton therapy radiation oncologist discusses the highly effective treatment for prostate cancer. Dr. Yonemoto, who was an early adopter of proton therapy, started at Loma Linda in 1992 and has been able to watch as proton therapy has moved into a more conventional treatment.

“The Hippocratic oath says to do no harm,” Yonemoto said. “Proton therapy is one of the most straight forward and logical methods to do that. It makes sense to harm less normal tissue that doesn’t have cancer. ”
